My dear brothers and sisters, Blessings on this Labor Day weekend! Today is our annual Mission Cooperative Appeal – in which we are invited to take some time to think about our call to Mission – a call that comes from Jesus Himself – “to go out to the ends of the earth to proclaim the Good News”. For this year’s Appeal, we welcome Sister Lisa Valentini, MSC -- a Missionary Sister of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus – who is here with us this weekend to share about the Missionary endeavors of her Sisters throughout the world. The MSC Congregation was founded as a Missionary Order – and at present, there are 531 MSC Sisters serving Our Lord by spreading the Good News in 19 countries around the globe. Sister Lisa is looking forward to speaking with us about her own mission experiences in Perú, Mexico, Haiti, India and the Dominican Republic. There are two ways of being Missionary: One is to GIVE by GOING – which is what the MSC Sisters do. . .the other is to GO by GIVING --. . . This Mission Appeal gives us the opportunity to “GIVE” so that we can be a part of the Missionary work of the MSC Sisters. I know that you will be generous, because you always are…
